Appearance
Personality
Toris is a gentle, soft-spoken boy with a gift for worrying. Though not strictly distrustful, he’s not used to relying on people. He’s afraid to drag those he loves into the pirate life and, as a result, doesn’t always ask for help when he should. He’d rather suffer in silence and protect his family than be rescued and put someone else in danger.
His family and friends the most important thing in his world and he would do anything to keep them safe. This often gets him in trouble with both the person he’s fighting against and the person he’s fighting for. Toris is so used to being under someone’s control that he no longer has the confidence to fight back, only to accept punishment and responsibility in the place of his friends. His friends hate to see him hurt and want their independence, but he never gives them an opportunity to fight back.
Toris is very reluctant to start any kind of rebellion, even if there is a high chance of success. He knows that he’d end up taking responsibility for the whole thing, so he often discourages rebellions and may try to sabotage them in their early stages to avoid a confrontation with Ivan.
Despite his occasionally irritatingly submissive nature Toris is a loving and likable person who always tries his best to make people feel better about their situation. He’s very
loyal to the few who gain his trust and tries to keep up a positive front for the benefit of those around him.

History
Toris had a very enjoyable childhood with his best friend, Feliks. They met on the western border of the Russian Empire and would spend most of their time riding horses or gardening together, leaving Toris with a great love of both activities. He actually lived with Feliks for a bit, and they wreaked more than a little havoc together.
Toris and Feliks were eventually joined by Ravis and Eduard, who Toris would come to consider his brothers and would later attend the same school. Toris was planning on joining the military as a communications specialist and was very dedicated to his language and history studies but was less diligent in combat training, which he often skipped in favor of spending time in the library with Feliks. As a result, his skills in battle are rather average, his only saving grace being his long legs and quick reflexes.
When walking home from school with his brothers, the three of them were kidnapped by the pirate captain Ivan Braginski, the Russian pilot of the HMS Iron Curtain, where they were forced to join as the only crew. Toris initially fought the hardest against the Captain, focusing on gaining the attention of the military who he believed would rescue him and his brothers. Though Ivan threatened him constantly, Toris continued to sneak radio calls to the airborne military units until his captor started to enforce his rule. Having never experienced truly ruthless violence before, Toris was completely unprepared for relentless beatings with a lead pipe, leading to an intense phobia of metalwork that makes it nearly impossible to work with machinery. He was scarred both physically and emotionally and though he is considered Ivan’s favorite, Toris never recovered entirely, the possibility of continued torture too real a possibility to ignore.
Toris now spends the majority of his time in Ivan’s office, working on papers and minor aspects of running the ship. He does his job well, and while preying on innocent ships both terrifies and disgusts him, he doesn’t dare rebel. Instead, he protects his brothers and keeps a lookout for Feliks and the military rescue he still prays for.
Sample/Character Introduction
Toris woke with a strangled cry, sitting up quickly enough to give himself vertigo. Marvelous. Not only was he plagued with continued nightmares, but now his health was starting to deteriorate as well. He really needed more than bread and coffee to survive, the darkening vision was surely a sign of that, but Toris reasoned that Ravis needed the extra food more than he did.
Rolling carefully out of his hammock-bed, the Lithuanian shrugged out of his nightshirt, wincing as the rough fabric brushed the twisting web of scars across his back and sides. Pushing the memories out of his mind with comfortably dull thoughts of breakfast, Toris straightened the crisp black sleeves of his uniform before tugging on his worn gloves and settling the ancient clockwork pistol across his hip. He hated the thing with a passion, but Ivan had requested that he keep it with him and enforced the rule with a literal iron fist. Shuddering at the remembrance, Toris shuffled to the galley, slightly hunched from sheer exhaustion. His brothers were already eating, he noticed, having allowed their eldest member the privilege of sleeping a few more moments.
The three men chewed their breakfast in silence, too tired to speak unnecessarily, and the brunette finished first, giving him the unspoken task of waking their captain. Attempting to loosen the aching stiffness that had settled across his shoulders, Toris crept up the stairs, hands already trembling.
Apologies for lateness. *sweatdrop*
And apologies for forgetting the Marukaite. I am a fool of much foolery.
