Mei rather liked jewelry. She decided that when she picked up a very pretty pink pendant from the small chest on her partner's desk. Sanan had a lot of small trinkets in there, ranging from old pocketwatches to antique rings. One would think that he would hide it somewhere that wasn't in plain sight, especially when Mei was on board. Not that she was untrustworthy or anything. The pendant was really beautiful though. It probably belonged to some lady who didn't appreciate it very much. Ah, but Mei would take better care of it.
It took her a moment to snap out of it and remember that it wasn't hers anyway. If she wanted it, she could ask Sanan. Should she have taken it right there, the Thai man would definitely notice. It was so small though. Mei was tempted to slip it into her pocket.
She sighed and placed the pendant back in the chest. They were going to dock soon to get some supplies and maybe rob someone. It had been a while since they did any robbing together. She also needed a new dress that was a more western style than the ones she already had. They also needed food but that wasn't really on her mind at that moment. Mei glanced around and then closed the chest. Sanan didn't have to know that she was snooping around his office again.

The weather was still just right to dock. There didn't seem to be any incoming storms. Sanan had planned to pick up some more supplies and change their mode of transportation. Travelling in the sky was quicker than on the sea. Mei seemed to mind when he first proposed it but he was still going to go through with it anyway. Now he was looking for her in hopes that she wasn't still overly upset.
She wasn't on the deck, nor in her room. Where else could she be? Sanan was puzzled for a moment, and then realised the one room he hadn't checked. His office. He rushed over there as quick as he could and stopped once the door was in view. Sure enough, there was a female figure lingering over his desk. Mei promised to not enter his office when he wasn't in there, yet there she was. Sanan wasn't upset but he wondered what she was doing in there.
He slowly approached the office. She didn't seem to notice him as he got closer, but he could see her close something. His little trinket chest to be precise. Oh, so Mei was being curious again. She should know better than to take something from the chest, but he imagined that she was just looking. Once he reached the room, he leaned on the doorway and smiled.
"Found something you like?"

Mei jumped at the sudden voice. She cursed herself for snooping around in the first place. Now she had to sweet talk her way out of whatever trouble she was in. Of course, she was only fearing the worst. Sanan wasn't incredibly terrifying (or at least he didn't seem like it). He did manage to be unpredictable, and this was one of these times. Mei took a deep breath as to not sound as nervous as she was feeling.
"A pair of my earrings went missing and I assumed that you might have taken them," she said, not turning around to face him. Her poker face had never been fairly effective whenever she was around him. "Anyway, I didn't find them so I was just about to leave."
The Asian girl slowly turned around so she could go back on deck, but it appeared as though Sanan had no intention of letting her leave without a proper explanation. She stopped in front of him. "Do you have any idea when we will reach the land?"

"Why would I take your earrings Meimei?" asked Sanan, though he wasn't expecting an answer. His expression stayed the same, for he knew that she was not really there for her earrings. She didn't have to lie, he wasn't angry at her. If she really wanted something from his little chest, she could have asked. Then he realised that the reason she was being evasive was because she broke her promise. At least, it was probably because of that.
As Mei approached him, he didn't move from the doorway. Sanan made it his goal at that moment to figure out why she was in his office. She was being overly secretive, though it could have been because she was supposed to be his loyal partner. It was fun to think of reasons why Mei was being the way she was.
When she asked him when they would land, he stayed silent for a moment. Changing the subject wasn't going to work but it was funny anyway. He then calculated the time it would take before they were officially ready to move to the skies. "We should be docked in five minutes," he patted her on the head and moved out of the way, "perhaps you should go see how the others are. I will join you in a minute."
